:: FORGET THE JUBILEE ::
Analysis: Who are they and what do they do?
She may not exercise power over governments or armies for herself, but the Queen does have a real role to play on behalf of her class. It is not merely symbolic that a new prime minister has to ask the Queen for permission to form a government - that is the ruling class’s veto in case of an unacceptable election result. As is the Queen’s power to call a state of emergency and mobilise the armed forces. While she may not do either of these things on her own whim, these powers are retained by the class she serves in case of emergency, and she would have no compunction in using them on their behalf if they deemed it necessary.
Meanwhile, the Queen’s weekly private meeting with the prime minister and daily inspection of briefing papers ensures that, as the executive officer of the ruling class, she is fully apprised of what is going on in Whitehall and Westminster, while the whole process simultaneously serves to remind those in government just whose interests it is that they are really being paid to look after. And the oath of fealty sworn by every serving officer is to the Queen alone - just so there’s no confusion in case a conflict between the ruling class and parliament should arise!
... The Queen is not ‘ours’, but theirs. She is of and for that tiny handful of ruthless exploiters who keep the world’s people in poverty and servitude, and we must not be fooled by sentimental hogwash into imagining that she has any interest in seeing our children taken care of. If we want a fitting future for them, it is going to have to be one without kings, queens or privileged exploiters of any kind.

Video: For Queen and country?
"I can not be proud of the fact that our country has for so long acted as an executioner of other people's liberties."
CPGB-ML Chairman Harpal Brar speaking at the Durham Union debating society.
:: BRITISH IMPERIALISM MEANS ATTACKS ON WORKERS AT HOME AND WAR ON WORKERS ABROAD ::
Hands off Syria!
For 15 months, this heroic and dignified Arab nation has faced a relentless campaign of destabilisation, ranging from media demonisation and crippling sanctions to terrorist bombings that have targeted civilians and the military alike, backed by imperialist special forces and other foreign aggressors.
A principled anti-war movement is desperately needed - one that will organise workers in a mass movement of non-cooperation with imperialist war crimes and unite them with the resistance movements in those countries under attack.
Hands off Somalia!
The drive to war is particularly pronounced in Africa, that continent so wealthy in resources and so impoverished by imperialist robbery. The assault on Libya signalled a major new phase in the campaign to recolonise Africa. And that is how we must understand the turn now taken by imperialist meddling in Somalia.
British workers must not allow their government to continue to fuel war and famine in Africa just so that British oil and mineral multinationals can reap fat profits by looting others' resources.
Who stole our future?
Whatever part of the country you live in, the problems are the same. Unemployment and poverty appear to be the future for the poor, while the children of the rich get to live a life of luxury. Britain is the sixth wealthiest country in the world, so why is it that only a small section of the population has all the money, all the good jobs, all the advantages?
Why do so many young people in Britain today feel as though the future holds little or nothing for them?
Last chance to save the NHS
An excellent and insightful reply to those who think that private companies can bring something useful to the health service.
:: CAPITALISM MUST GO! ::
Leaflet: Time to face it; capitalism must go
Despite the incredible amount of wealth generated by the workers of the world, unequal distribution means that nearly half the world’s children live in poverty and 22,000 of them die every single day as a direct consequence of that poverty. The huge rise in food prices caused by the economic crisis has exacerbated this already horrific situation.

Video: What does the USSR mean to my generation?
"All the lies about Soviet socialism mean that several generations have been demoralised. They've been cut off from their own heritage; cut off from the knowledge that another world is possible, and that they're capable of building it. Cut off from the science of revolution, and from the ideology that offers them hope for a future free from war, poverty, unemployment, homelessness, degredation and disease."
Comrade Joti on how we need to reclaim our history and learn from the experience of building socialism in the USSR.
Video: Join the struggle!
"Wherever workers are in struggle, socialism remains their ideology, their doctrine. It is the most concentrated expression of the strategy and tactics weneed to guide us in our struggle to the point where we can stop being an oppressed mass who dream about a better future and actually put ourselves in the driving seat - to take control of power, and to put our work, our labour, our economy at the service of common people."
Comrade Ranjeet puts the case for joining the revolutionary movement.
Video: Red Youth learn from October
"The ruling class pretended to be shocked about the violence of last August's youth uprisings, but this is nonsense. They love us being violent. They are perfectly happy when we are stabbing and shooting each other in our abandoned and drug-infested estates. Even better when we join their police force to brutalise our citizens and protect their private property. And better still - the ultimate delight - when we enlist in their armies and fight on their behalf to steal and do the real looting of resources from the developing world, killing millions of our fellow workers in the process. The ruling class are only shocked, and are only against our violence, when it is pointed away from each other and finally directed towards them."
Comrade Jamie sums up the experience of the 2011 youth uprisings and shows how October 1917 has much to teach us about the path to building a better world.
